May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The Japan America Society of St. Louis is celebrating its 50th anniversary by bringing traditional Japanese culture to the Museum. Experience a tea ceremony; learn flower arranging (ikebana); and enjoy comic storytelling (rakugo), music (shamisen), a kimono show, and doll displays. Kamishibai storytelling will delight children ages 5 and up.
Presented in collaboration with the Japan America Society of St. Louis and the Japan America Society Women’s Association.
