Finding Your World War I Veteran
brochure: finding your ww1 veteran

The National Personnel Records Center had a fire in 1973 that destroyed the majority of U.S. Army, Army Air Force, and Army Air Corps records from 1912 to 1963. The records of World War I veterans were the most heavily damaged. This program will outline veterans’ World War I service records held at the National Archives at St. Louis and describe how auxiliary military records may assist in reconstructing a veteran’s World War I service.
